Hello

I have just made a comprehensive post about my ESA and various other problems but l wanted to post a seperate thread about this.

A couple of weeks ago l was attending the hospital for Hydrothrapy when l had severe chest pain, hadn't even got in the pool! I was taken straight to A&E Ressuss and attacked with needles and wired to machinery. After a few hours l was sent to the obs ward for 24 hours. They then followed me up in 10 days for the fast access Cardiac clinic.

Despite all the tests etc l am still without diagnosis. I haven't had a heart attack thank goodness, my BP had been high and l was on antihypertensives, but in hospital my BP was extremely low, causing great excitement in ressuss!! and my pulse high, l was also found to have a slightly high cholesterol. At the fast access clinic they were at a loss to say why this had happened and prescribed Beta Blockers and Statins, l was unable to finish the treadmill test so have been referred to have an angiogram and possibly an angioplasty or a stent. There is a 10 week waiting list!!

Anyhow, l wanted to know if anyone has experience of this, l am quite OK with having it, l am just curious, or experience with chest pain, I'm pretty sure that the culmination of the horrendous year l have had so far is the reason, l had a routine heart check only 3 weeks prior to all this, l have congenital heart valve defects, and all was OK.

Hello Christine,

I have had no signs to what you describe.

Hi Christine,

My gran has had heart worries the last few yrs- her colesterol is high, BP low.

some heart rate flutters at times.

All of the cholesterol things etc have been put down to the RA actually.

I'm so pleased they are taking a good look at you- heart and lung involvement with RA can happen I know but this is often more about the swelling of the tissues normally.
